Our services are for any and all students. Whether you are a valedictorian aiming for the Ivy League, or a middle-of-the road student struggling to get through high school, we will help you find the post-secondary program that best suits your individual needs. We offer comprehensive one-on-one college planning packages, hourly sessions, weekend workshops, and intensive week-long, bootcamp-style programs.
Looking to get a head start? Join us for Application Academy, August 15-18.
Application Academy is an all-inclusive program for students entering their senior year of high school. This intensive, five-day, fifteen-hour, "bootcamp"-style workshop is designed to guide students through all the intricacies of the college application process, from start to finish.
In just one week, students will
- Receive a custom-made college list
- Outline, draft and edit their college essay
- Write a comprehensive and detailed activities list
- Complete the online Common Application
- Identify potential scholarship opportunities
- Learn more about financial aid
Additionally, they will participate in mini-workshops that cover the following topics:
· College Characteristics—This workshop will introduce students to college-related vocabulary, then walk them through the process of defining what characteristics they individually are looking for in a college. By the end of this workshop, students will be able to define which college qualities are essential to them.
· Standardized Testing—We will cover the essentials of the major standardized tests that are required for college admissions, including the SAT Reasoning Test, SAT Subject Tests, ACT, APs, etc. Students will get advice on ways to boost their scores as well as individualized consultations regarding the advantages and disadvantages of retaking tests and score choice.
· Professional Communication—This workshop covers best practices for college interviews and suggestions for calling and emailing college admissions reps. Additionally, students will understand the importance of professional email etiquette and social networking as well as how to address teachers/counselors when asking them for letters of recommendation.
· College Visits—During this session, students will learn how to get the most relevant information from college visits. They will understand why it is important to experience both an information session and a campus tour and make a list of essential questions to ask when visiting a college.
· Scholarship Searches—Students will learn about the variety of different resources they can use to conduct scholarship searches and will learn about how to avoid scholarship scams.
· Financial Aid—During this session, the Admissions Advocates experts will share essential Financial Aid-related terminology, go over strategies for maximizing chances for aid, review the process of filling out the FAFSA, and share a financial aid planning calendar.
· Other workshops may include: student athletes and NCAA, student artists and the portfolio, student musicians/actors and the audition
The cost of Application Academy is $495. Application Academy will be held August 15-18th at 213 Audubon Drive in Snyder.
We give each student special, individualized attention, so space is very limited. In February, we will begin accepting $100 deposits to reserve spots.
